I want to talk about Child Abuse and I will be focusing on child sexual exploitation because whether we believe it or not these things happen and are happening on a daily basis.

I'm going to be sharing a story.

Something happened few nights ago and I just want to share.

A guy came to a bar with his friends to drink at about 9:00pm and as he was  drinking he called Chizoba the little bar girl of about 15years old who is helping her aunt sell over to take more orders, while making his order he placed his hand on the little girl's shoulders, this little girl hurriedly removed his hands from her shoulders and asked him not to try it again!

The customer who clearly didn't like her response began to Insult this little girl and calling her all sorts of names claiming that he was only trying to be friendly with her and that the little girl was being rude.
While he was at it other male customers joined to insult this little girl, trying to intimidate her, she took his orders and left..

This reminded me of my bank experience..

Few weeks ago I went to the bank to make a transaction and you know all these our banks with long queues and slow network ish..
I was on the queue for a very long time and as it finally got to my turn, a man from nowhere came to my front and was forcing himself through the little space between I and the customer care lady, while he was doing this his hand was pressing my breasts and he knew!. I didn't want to move back because I didn't want him to chance* me so pushed his hand and asked him to control his hands as they were hitting me.  Instead of apologizing, He turned to look at me like he was about to slap me, his eyes were so mean and intimidating. I looked at him and said look! You cannot intimidate me move your hands far away from me they are pressing my chest!
Oh dear, there was no name this man didn't call me.
I just stood there watching him like really??

The customer care lady just said I should ignore him and she apologize on his behalf while the security took the man to a corner.
*sighs*

This kind of lash is one of the reasons why women, African women are afraid of speaking up when sexually abused. Fear of what people will think, how people will look at them and all
We've been trained to act a certain way, ignore alot of things ,let things be , you are a woman, you should be seen not heard... Ha!
Don't talk about certain things, hm

but I refused to be intimidated!

Anyways back to Little Chizoba's story.
Few minutes later her aunt hearing all the noise and all that her customer had to say,  called Chizoba aside, am guessing to hear her own side of the story.

Am hoping that she takes things with wisdom and not side her customer in the name of saving her business.

I must applaud this little girl for speaking up for herself immediately and acting fast because this is how these people hunt their prey.

They'll start by putting their hands on your little ones shoulders next they'll extend it to her breast and before you know it they're abusing your kids right under your nose in the name of doing business you're losing your kids!

So yea, I really applaud Chizoba's bravery, in a country where if a child is expressive she is referred to as rude and disrespectful.. Oh she lacks home training, blah blah blah
And things are going wrong!

Parents are knowingly or unknowingly raising a generation of timid and primitive children who can't speak up for themselves!

It's really sad.

Parents need to wake up!
